Anticipatory Grief

The Sisters define anticipatory grief as the grief that occurs when a loved one is given a terminal diagnosis and the family members try to imagine the pain they will feel when their loved one is actually gone.  Anticipating a loss is another layer in the grieving process.  However, no matter how much you try to imagine the pain you feel from your broken heart it doesn’t even compare to what you really feel.
